First Day of Spring
No, I'm not being sarcastic. I actually like it when it's cloudy and threatening to rain. Rain is my favorite kind of weather.
Today I'm actually being proactive in getting quite a few things listed in my etsy shop, you should definitely go check it out:
http://photocopiedheart.etsy.com
I'm having a musical movie marathon. Okay, not so much a musical movie marathon, but an awesome movie marathon that consists mostly of musical movies. I started it with Repo! The Genetic Opera. Love this movie. Kick ass. It's almost replaced my love The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Though, I'm sure once I get back home to Texas I will resume my regular attendance of Los Bastardos (www.losbastardos.com) every single Saturday night. That is if I can actually afford it.
Trying to get as many hours as possible at work, but it's hard when corporate has only alloted them so many hours per worker. Full time employees are only getting maybe eight or ten hours more than part timers. Yeah, it's almost that bad. It's terrible, but corporate is trying to do all they can to not lay off store employees. They even took away annual pay raises until the national minimum wage raise in June and personal days. Vacation days are still there, but since I didn't get them the first time around, who says I'm going to get that now?
Ah, well. Back to item listing, I suppose.

Spiders
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKNsv4R3xtA
I freeze in my tracks every time I see a spider. And I will do this kind of strained, silent screech type of scream. Even if no one is around. And then I'll either find something to try to kill it and I'll squash it SEVERAL MILLION times over until I'm positive that it's dead or I will try to slide away unnoticed and try to avoid going that way until it's had time to scurry away out of my life.
In other news, I'm taking lots of pictures of products for my etsy shop! Yay! Tried to take some of some placemats outside but my dog, Pork Chop, decided he needed to stand under the table for some of the pictures. Silly dog.
Anyway, I've got to get back to picture taking. I might have to take my new dress form outside for pictures. Our staging room downstairs doesn't seem to be getting sufficient light today. :(

St. Patrick's Day!
And I still have no followers on my blog! I need to get myself out there and get people into this blog, I suppose...hmmm

My Etsy
Anyway, the whole point of this blog is that I have an Etsy shop! Yay! Lots of people have Etsy shops, you say. Well, yes, I know, but I decided that in order to make mine stand out and hopefully help my sales, that I would create a blog (or several...) in which people can visit to see what I've been up to, see pictures of things my mom and I have made, etc.
I just want to give people a more personal approach to my shop so people don't think I'm just a promo-producing etsy slut or something.
Some of the things I want to put on my Etsy have been put on hold because my camera is currently out of state in Wisconsin. I went to visit my boyfriend there in January and I accidentally left it behind. He's been...uh...caring for it since then. I'm sure it'll come back with a full memory card...if he ever sends it back to me!
Anywho, on my down time (AKA when I'm not at my job at Shopko) I'll hopefully be at home working on crafts, taking pictures, letting you guys know the juice on my shop and whatnot.
I hope that this blog can get quite a few followers and then my shop can get more hearts and even more sales. Lord knows we could all use some sales these days!
Until next time....

Flying Spaghetti Monster
We all know of the Flying Spaghetti Monster do we not? Well, I have a very dear friend who is a Pastafarian, so for Christmas my mother and I made plans to make him his own FSM plushie!
He is made of pasta-colored felt and fuzzy pom meatballs. Oh, and some of his noodly appendages have pipe cleaners in them for flexibility.

- He is always watching

- God among pasta

- His eyes, they peer into your soul!

- Golden Light
I can also post the pictures that my friend took whenever he got it, if you'd like :)
Obligatory Introduction Post!
Hello Blogspotters--or do you guys call yourselves something else? My name is Becca! I go by Becca Darling in the world of crafts and zines. I'm 20-years-old. I was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. Okay, that's a bit of a lie, I also lived in Lubbuck, TX for a few years, and then spent a few years in Crowley, TX.
I graduated high school in 2006. I attended about 3 semesters of community college. In my fourth semester, I got pretty sick with influenza and a nasty stomach virus and was out for almost a month and a half. I had to drop my classes or risk failing them. I haven't had a chance to go back to school since, but I do plan on getting back in the swing of things, because I am quite bored without having homework to keep me busy.
I'm a ginger--sorta. My hair is mostly brown, sometimes auburn, and sometimes blazing red. Never been dyed (at least not with permanent dye). It just likes to change colors on me.
This is me!

I've got what you call baby-birthin' hips. I'm pretty proud of my curves. Sometimes they get in the way when getting dressed, but that's fine ;)
I have one tattoo at the moment...

- not-so-good pic of my tattoo
I swear that it looks better in person. The flash of the camera washed it out, and it's only wonky-looking because its really hard to take a picture of your own arm. I want more tattoos!
I currently reside in North Platte, NE because I lost my job back home. It's okay, though, because it was a crappy job. Well, not a crappy job, but corporate was full of assholes that would come to the theater and basically not give two shits that we were all suffering. I actually kind of enjoyed being a bartender at a movie theater. I want to bartend again. It's fun.
In NP, NE, I work at a retail store called Shopko. It's pretty okay. I'm an apparel specialist. It's a pretty cool job, actually. I like putting out new clothes and whatnot, and I like folding the clothes when there's nothing else to do. I'm hoping it'll give me a good foot in the retail door because I kind of want to open up my own kind of "rare" sock store kind of like sockdreams.com. Oh, and I really want to work in a lingerie store. Lingerie, shoes, socks, and sweaters are my weakness.
I discovered zines at the age of 13 thanks to a lovely show called Our Hero. If anyone would ever like to bestow upon me the DVD set, then I would love you forever and I promise I will make you something simply amazing in return! Anyway, I wrote zines for nearly 7 years without gaps. Now I'm so intermitten in the entire zine world. It makes me a little sad because I still enjoy them and I still have a huge stack in my room to read through. I've only made one zine in the last year, but she's my pride and joy and I don't want to spoil her by just adding anything to her.
My mom does embroidery a lot. She finally got an embroidery machine so she's been working away on that for quite some time. She's trying to hammer out a lot of projects before her day job kicks back in here in the next few weeks.
So, I put together an etsy site (http://photocopiedheart.etsy.com) for my mom and I. It actually just started out as an account for me because I was considering buying some items on there, and then I finally decided to set up a shop. We've made a few sales in the past few months, but nothing spectacular. It's actually mostly been my stuff that's sold. Meh.
Anyway...if there's anything else you want to know about me...then just ask!
